Welcome, incoming kindergartners! Come and spend the morning with us to explore all the joys and adventures of kindergarten! The weeks will be filled with kinder-readiness activities, including circle time to build community, math sense, pre-literacy skills, social-emotional activities, and play to develop cooperation, teamwork, patience, and more. Mornings will include snack and recess, just like a real kindergarten day, and then classes will move on to gross motor activities on the playground and the field. Fine motor activities will be explored to help develop pre-handwriting skills and tying shoes. The kinder experience will also include STEAM lessons, such as coding, building, baking, and sensory play. Do you have a budding artist? We’ll explore dance, singing, theater games, and even working with clay and other materials to create an inspired masterpiece. This program is designed to give your young kindergartner a sense of what to expect in a kindergarten day and will help them prepare for the exciting year ahead. This course will help build confidence and awareness and help alleviate the uncertainty of starting in a new school. We look forward to having your kinder with us this summer! Kinder students may enroll in E and F period classes after the Kinder program is done for the day. Students may repeat this course in session 2 with a different instructor.
