If You Give a Pig a Pancake, The Runaway Bunny, The Napping House, Goodnight Moon ....We will read and explore some of the best and most fun children's picture books, examining what makes them compelling. Then, inspired by these mentor texts, students will write and illustrate prequels, sequels, or companion books. Your children will learn what good authors do to craft memorable fiction, gain key writing skills and expertise, and have fun becoming picture book authors in their own right!
Tech & Video Content: Daily read aloud stories in class, alternating between library books & youtube read alouds. About 5-10 minutes at the beginning of each class.
