This course involves in-depth analyses of Disney and Pixar films and shorts! Through interactive discussions and engaging film packets, students will use critical thinking skills to explore the themes represented in these films and reflect on how these lessons can be applied in everyday life.
Since this is a film-based class, students will have screen time each day. After watching a movie or film segment, part of the class is dedicated to discussing the movie, completing reflections and critiques, and answering comprehension questions that help students relate the stories and themes to their own experiences.
Throughout the course, students will strengthen their critical thinking, communication, creativity, and collaboration skills while diving deep into the magical world of storytelling that Disney and Pixar have to offer.
Please be advised that both sessions of this course will review the same content. Students will also need to be able to comprehend the material and express it through oral and written language.

Tech & Video Content: The amount of screen time varies depending on the day. Some days we may watch a longer portion of the film, while other days will focus on discussion, reflections, and activities from the provided film packet. On average, students will have 30–45 minutes of screen time per day. Please note that alternative activities, such as drawing, coloring, working on the film packet provided, or participating in a quiet read-aloud led by a staff member, are available.
