Do you have the chops to be a litigating attorney? In this course students will perform the roles of prosecution and defense attorneys as well as witnesses for the prosecution and defense in a criminal trial. This class is an introduction to the courtroom through the Constitutional Rights Foundations' engaging Mock Trials for secondary students interested in the logic, procedure, writing and drama of the issues embodied in cases of law. Students will gain a deeper understanding of our judicial system while developing their communication skills, their analytical abilities, and how to successfully work as a team. The focus of the course will be on student centered activities in the competitive atmosphere of the mock trial.
These classes are being offered in both sessions of the Poly Summer program. Students may take this course in both sessions. Students who attend the second session will explore the same case in greater depth.
Tech & Video Content: Limit video demonstrating trial techniques.
