This hands-on Math Facts Boot Camp helps young mathematicians build confidence, accuracy, and flexible thinking with addition and subtraction. Throughout the course, students will learn how to choose strategies that make sense for the numbers they see—such as making tens, using doubles, counting on, and breaking numbers apart. They will practice solving problems efficiently through games, quick drills, math talks, and both oral and written activities.
During the final week, students will begin to explore the ideas behind multiplication and division in an age-appropriate way. They will investigate how groups, repeated addition, equal sharing, and arrays help explain why these operations work. This gentle introduction helps students make meaningful connections as they prepare for future learning.
This course is designed for rising first and second-graders who want to strengthen their math fact fluency, build strong number sense, and develop strategies they can use with confidence.
