Makers Market is a hands-on, three-week adventure in creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship! Students experience the full journey of bringing an idea to lifeâfrom brainstorming and designing to producing and presenting a finished product. During the first week, students will explore what makes a product successful as they sketch ideas, test materials, build prototypes, and refine their designs through trial and error. In week two, the focus shifts to production and branding. Students will create a small collection of handmade goods, design eye-catching logos and signage, and craft persuasive pitches or advertisements to promote their creations. Along the way, they will collaborate, give feedback, and make thoughtful improvements to their work. The final week brings everything together as students prepare for the exciting Makersâ Market event. Using real-world math and social studies skillsâsuch as pricing, making change, and understanding supply and demandâstudents get ready to âsellâ or trade their products with their peers and visitors. Each session blends hands-on making with short bursts of guided instruction, reflection, and teamwork, ensuring a balance between structured learning and creative freedom while building confidence, independence, and entrepreneurial thinking.
