This class is designed for intermediate chess players. The students are expected to know at least how the pieces move and have some experience in playing chess. There will be daily opportunities for the students to play against their classmates and instructors, and there will be a class tournament the final week of the course.
This class will introduce the students to basic and intermediate chess tactics and strategies. Main emphasis will be on the opening but important aspects of the middle game and end game will also be covered.
