Intro to Miniramas - Cut, Sculpt, Build, & Paint, Bringing scenes to life!
Grade 6-10

In intro to miniramas students can let their creative side flow in this scene building class by building fantasy or modern themed dioramas using a combination of materials and skills learned in the class. Students will learn skills like base coating in where students learn to create the perfect ratio of paint to water to allow smooth spplication of paint to the models students will place in their dioramas that act as the base coat to allow other color to better stick to the materials and miniature models they will be using. Edge highlighting will allow students to build on painting by bringing out details in their models by highlighting the thin surfaces of a model or terrain piece. Dry brushing and blending are other paint skills that students will learn in this class to bring their models and scenes to life. In creating scenes, students will use a combination of materials, some as simple as a Pringles can to create an elaborate wizard’s tower, or styroform to create run down and abandoned homes in a dusty desert and much more.
