Influential Women - A Creative Analysis of Women who have Changed the World
Grade 5-8

Come explore the wonderful rhetoric of humanity through the exploration of the lives of women who have dared to defy the limitations placed upon them by society. During our three week session students have the freedom to learn about women in history, literature, mythology, art, music, science, religion and more. This is a discussion driven class where we will cover the Etymology of the words societies have used to define humans, engage in critical thinking instigated by a multi-cultural scope of representation.During the first week scholars will create their own notebook to build upon each meeting. Students are expected to choose at least three fields to focus on and create an artistically driven embodiment of their newly acquired knowledge through tools like paint, clay, collage, ink, and paper. By the end of the week each scholar will be asked to share their work with the class as the audience adds the knowledge received to their individual notebook.
