This is the study-skills class you didn’t know you needed. Sure, we’ll cover note-taking, staying organized, and all that. But we’re really going to focus on the big jobs your brain is doing and how to be its boss with neuroscience. What does the amygdala have to do with anxiety? Why are neurotransmitters such an important part of brain chemistry? How does decision-making change with your age? What is the default-mode network, and how can we use it? We’ll look at brain structure and growth, neuroplasticity, how dopamine drives our choices, and whether phones really are messing with our sleep. We’ll try fun activities while we study the brain, including meditation, green tea, and breathing exercises, along with games to help our memory, and dissect a real(sheep) brain!
