Graphic Novel - Creating a Comic Book

Join us for an awesome three-week adventure into the world of graphic novels! Perfect for 5th to 7th graders who love storytelling and art, this class will introduce you to the exciting process of creating your own illustrated story. You’ll learn all about crafting characters, designing layouts, adding expressive lettering, and bringing your ideas to life on the page. By the end of the class, you’ll have your very own graphic novel to share! Let your imagination run wild and create a story that’s all your own! Note: Students will watch 2–3 short, G-rated animated films (2–6 minutes each) to see how cartooning can tell a story without words, use facial expressions to show emotion, and showcase different artistic styles—from hand-drawn to computer-animated.
