Crochet and Embroidery - An Introduction
Grade 5-8

Did you know that we have yet to discover the origin of crochet? Though evidence of this art can be found in Europe, South America, China and the Middle East humanity has yet to solidify the origin of this form of expression. In this three week class students will learn about the origin of both of these vital art forms and the important role they continue to play in our modern world. Once basic stitches and knots have been learned, students will be provided with tools necessary to create their own artwork which they will be able to wear when it is completed. Scholars will be guided through the proper steps necessary to complete their desired art within and outside of the classroom. By the end of our class students will be able to apply this knowledge into real world situations aiding them for years to come.
