This imaginative class uses The Very Hungry Caterpillar as the heart of our learning, blending beginning Chinese with hands-on clay art and storytelling. As the story unfolds, students will sculpt the caterpillar, butterfly, and a wide variety of foods while learning simple Chinese words and phrases connected to eating, growing, and basic actions. Designed especially for 2nd–3rd graders, this course features a richer storyline and more detailed clay projects that allow students to work through longer creative sequences and develop their focus and fine-motor skills. Through guided repetition, listening, and story retelling, students will build confidence using Chinese in a fun, meaningful way. This class offers an engaging way for elementary students to deepen their Chinese learning through story, art, and creative expression.
