Students will explore the globe through a combination of regional and cultural specific literature and tactile activities. Each unit will focus on a holiday or festival celebrated throughout the world. After an introduction of the region and event, we will being with reading corresponding cultural stories. Examples of these explorations might include Diwali, Santa Lucia, Children's Day, the Chinese New Year, etc. Students will explore these festivals by comparing and contrasting with other cultural celebrations and completing a related hands-on-activity.
