In this exciting 3-week summer class, young writers will dive into the imaginative worlds of two beloved children's authors—Mo Willems and Ezra Jack Keats. Through playful storytelling, fun activities, and hands-on writing exercises, students will learn the basics of creating their own short stories. Each week, we will explore the unique styles and themes of Mo Willems’ delightful characters, such as Pigeon and Elephant & Piggie, as well as the vibrant, community-driven stories of Ezra Jack Keats, like The Snowy Day. Students will draw inspiration from these authors to create their own stories, focusing on character development, simple plots, and fun dialogue.
