Kinder Program ( Special Schedule )
Grade K

Welcome, incoming kindergartners! Come and spend the morning with us to explore all the joys and adventures of kindergarten! The weeks will be filled with kinder-readiness activities, including circle time, math, pre-literacy skills, social-emotional activities, and play. Our summer program is designed to be fun, engaging and help our youngest campers work on patience, team work, following directions, and fine & gross motor skills.

Designed with our youngest campers in mind, the Kinder Program provides each camper a homeroom class to be their home base. During our time together, campers will have unstructured free play, circle time, centers, read alouds and crafts, phonics and alphabet activities, math centers, and many fun projects! In addition, we will have snack and recess, just like a real kindergarten day! The kinder experience will also include STEAM lessons, such as coding, building, baking, and sensory play. Do you have a budding artist? We’ll explore dance, singing, theater games, and even working with clay and other materials to create inspired masterpieces.

This program is designed to give your young kindergartner a sense of what to expect in a kindergarten day and will help them prepare for the exciting year ahead. This course will help build confidence and awareness and help alleviate the uncertainty of starting in a new school. We look forward to having your kinder with us this summer! Kinder students may enroll in E and F period classes after the Kinder program is done for the day. Campers may enroll in the Kinder Program for all 6 weeks as each week is unique and different!

Technology is meaningfully integrated into the Kinder Program for student engagement. iPads are used for center rotations where students will use a specific app for a 10 minute rotation working on letter recognition, phonics, and number sense. Occasionally we will watch read alouds of picture books and weekly we will participate in a yoga activity using Cosmic Kids.
