Backyard Biologists
Grade 3-4

Step into the wild world of life science! In this interactive class, students become biologists as they explore cells, adaptations, ecosystems, and the amazing relationships that connect all living things. Through creative projects, observations, videos, and hands-on discoveries, young scientists will investigate how plants and animals survive, grow, and interact with their environments. Some activities include building an edible cell model, investigating food chains, and designing an animal adapted to a specific habitat. Students will also practice recording data, asking scientific questions, and observing patterns in nature as they deepen their understanding of how life works, from the tiniest cells to entire ecosystems. If you are curious about the natural world and love discovering the wonders of living things, this class is the perfect adventure.
Course content may include occasional 5-10 minute videos or Mystery Science lessons where an activity/lesson is framed with a video introduction to a science question.
