Are you curious about the inner workings of toys, appliances, and other machines? If you like to take things apart and learn how objects are put together, this is the course for you! In Creative Deconstruction, students will observe and then dissect items ranging from flashlights to toasters to sewing machines to figure out how they work. Along the way, students will learn the basics of electronic circuitry and mechanics, skills with small tools, and the art of diagramming. After they uncover how objects work, the final challenge is for students to reconstruct the objects they took apart! The class will view educational videos of no more than a few minutes to help illustrate class concepts.
